Course Overview
This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a beauty massage therapist including, units covering the following: providing body massage, health and safety, anatomy and physiology and client care.
Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and massage medium products. You will develop a range of technical skills enabling you to provide massage treatments. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.
Course Duration 5 weeks (1 day a week)

Entry Requirements
· A good level of written and spoken English
· A Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy and/or a successful skills test and interview
· Students must be over 16 years old to enrol on this course

· Provide body massage
· Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
· Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
Employment and Progression
This qualification will prepare you for employment as a beauty (Swedish massage) therapist. You will also be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance as a beauty (Swedish massage) therapist. Career opportunities as a beauty (Swedish massage) therapist exist in a variety of contexts, including:
· Working in commercial beauty salons
· Working in a destination and day spas
· Working independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings
